Visible signs of aging - what does your age reveal?

Over time, a person’s appearance changes, but it is not immediately clear what exactly has changed - external signs of aging are not striking, but they definitely indicate age. The volume on the face disappears, the shadows fall differently, and the image is already different, not like in youth. Even if there are no wrinkles on the forehead, it becomes flat, and this is read by others on an intuitive level. Among the visible signs of aging are a loss of tone in the tragus and earlobe, and the filtrum (two strips connecting the nose and upper lip). The drooping of the eyebrows, when they slide below the brow ridge, makes the look tired.

Surprisingly, a face without wrinkles can be old. Drooping eyebrows, a wrinkled earlobe, a flabby neck, hands and a swollen angle of youth speak eloquently about age. In aesthetic medicine, the concept of “markers of aging” is used - signs by which age is accurately read. Such changes seem insignificant, but they significantly age us.

Flat forehead

Horizontal wrinkles on the forehead are removed using botulinum therapy. But regular injections can lead to atrophy of the fat layer, and the forehead will lose volume and become completely smooth. It seems, how can a flat forehead without wrinkles age? However, it changes the entire face pattern and makes it look older.

The deficiency is eliminated by introducing fillers with hyaluronic acid. This procedure can only be entrusted to professionals, especially if you are prone to swelling. The doctor accurately determines the areas and the required volume of the drug.

Lip filter

The area is located between the base of the nose and the upper lip. Two stripes that descend vertically from the nose to the lip, as if lifting it up, are called “filtrum columns.” The area has a pronounced relief in youth, which becomes less noticeable over the years. For most people, it disappears completely in old age.

Many people do not even know that the filtrum immediately reveals age; they are more worried about the appearance of such signs of facial aging as purse-string wrinkles. When restoring the tone of the mouth area, cosmetologists also correct the columns of the philtrum. To do this, an elastic thread is inserted into the contour of the upper lip or the strips are filled with hyaluronic acid filler.

Facial massage

A special massage has a beneficial effect on the condition of the facial muscles. When performing it, it is necessary that your hands are clean, and your facial skin is dry and also pre-cleaned. It is better to carry out this complex every day.

Exercise No. 1. It is necessary to place three fingers of both hands above the eyebrows. Next, apply light pressure to the skin and smoothly raise the eyebrows. Next, you need to relax your fingers and slowly lower the skin.

Exercise No. 2. You need to close your lips tightly, then you need to take a deep breath, puffing out your cheeks as much as possible. It is necessary to exhale air through closed lips.

Exercise No. 3. After taking a deep breath through your nose, you need to hold your breath and push with your fingertips into the corners of your mouth so that the air comes out.

Exercise No. 4. Keep your lips tightly closed and place your palms on your cheeks. Next, you need to try to smile as widely as possible, tensing your facial muscles as much as possible. The lips should not part.

Exercise No. 5. You need to take as deep a breath as possible. Next, you need to push air into the oral cavity. With each new push, the cheeks should inflate more and more. Then it is also necessary to release the air in a jerky manner.

Exercise No. 6. Gymnastics. Particular attention should be paid to articulation, because it has a direct impact on the condition of the facial muscles. After this, you need to quickly pronounce the vowels: “a”, “e”, “i”, “o”, “u”, “s”.

Floating oval

A clear jaw angle is one of the main indicators of youth. With age, subcutaneous fat shifts downwards, as a result the cheeks become less elastic, jowls, nasolabial folds, and a double chin appear. The face becomes pasty, blood circulation slows down, and swelling is observed. The changes are especially noticeable on the side.

In youth, the face looks like a triangle with the apex on the chin; this arrangement of tissues is called the “triangle of youth.” With age, the architecture of the face changes - the cheeks slide down and become the base of the triangle, the eyebrows lowered down emphasize the picture.

To restore the “triangle of youth”, fillers and mesothreads are used. You can perform face fitness exercises. As a result, the volume of the cheeks increases, the tissues are stretched, jowls and nasolabial lines disappear - the face looks much younger.

Is it possible to pump up your cheeks?

Women readily respond to new and not so new methods that promise victory in the race to preserve youth and beauty. And if specialists guarantee results at minimal cost, both financial and time, the popularity of the method skyrockets. But how realistic is it to achieve a noticeable effect by pumping up the facial muscles, and is face fitness really an effective way to fight against aging?

What are they attached to?

To understand what results you can actually achieve, you need to understand how muscles work. According to different calculation methods, there are from 640 to 850 muscles in the human body. They are needed to move the body, move its individual parts, and set various organs in motion.

Muscles are divided into three groups: skeletal, smooth and cardiac. Skeletal ones are located throughout the body. Their peculiarity is that they are attached with their ends to the bones and can contract at the request of a person.

With the help of special exercises they can be developed by increasing volume and mass.

Smooth muscles are located in the internal organs - in the esophagus, bladder, vessel walls and others. They contract without obeying our will. Regardless of our consciousness, they move, for example, food along the esophagus or constrict the pupil if the sun is shining brightly. And the cardiac muscles are located, as you might have guessed from the name, in the heart and contract spontaneously.

It's different on the face

Facial muscles belong to the group of skeletal muscles, but differ in the method of attachment. They are attached to the bone at one end, and woven into the skin or mucous tissue at the other. The muscles of this group are called facial muscles. When they contract, folds, wrinkles, dimples and bumps form on the skin.

Facial muscles are divided into two groups: levators and depressors. Levators raise their face up. And depressors pull you down. In youth, the levator muscles are toned, the upper eyelid is open, the corners of the lips look up. With age, depressor muscles begin to work more. The corners of the eyebrows and lips droop, the neck muscles pull the jowls down. To compensate for such changes, the forehead muscles begin to become hypertonic. They are shortened to pull the entire face up.

If you look at facial expressions, you will notice that the muscles do not work separately. Pay attention to the way you smile. At this moment, not only the muscles around the mouth work, wrinkles also form in the corners of the eyes, the nose wrinkles, and the position of the eyebrows changes slightly.

All this suggests that isolating one muscle and pumping it up separately from others will not work. And if you don’t know all the anatomical features of the behavior of facial muscles, you can get negative results from doing face fitness, further aggravating the problem.

But sometimes it’s still possible

You can achieve the desired results only if you know the anatomy of the face, the structural features of the human body and be aware of related problems, for example, with the musculoskeletal system, which directly affects the facial muscles.

Patients come to me who want to improve their appearance. As a cosmetologist, I always pay attention to posture, facial symmetry, and bite. I observe the patient during a conversation, his facial expressions. I watch how muscles contract while laughing, how a person blinks in surprise.

All faces are different from each other. And what helped one may not help another. Different people have different muscle patterns. Some people always walk with a frown, while others have had creases on their foreheads due to constant stress since they were 20 years old. With age, the volumes on the face also change. Subcutaneous fat tissue disappears. Some muscles lose this volume, while others, on the contrary, increase it. Therefore, in face fitness there are no universal exercises that will help everyone.

Only by analyzing all the parameters can you say which ones will specifically help solve your problem. And it’s better to consult a physical therapy doctor for a facial complex. Then, if you perform the exercises correctly, you will definitely not pump up unnecessary volumes and extra wrinkles.

Neck laxity

The main signs of neck aging are:

  • the appearance of wrinkles on the neck - “rings of Venus” (for more information about the “rings of Venus” see here);
  • decreased skin elasticity;
  • platysma bands.

A universal method for correcting age-related changes in the neck is biorevitalization. The technique provides instant results and a long-lasting rejuvenation effect. As a result, tissues are tightened, wrinkles are smoothed out, and the water balance in the deep layers of the skin is restored. Compositions with hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and amino acids are widely used.

Cosmetology procedures at home

In order to have plump cheeks, you need to take a responsible approach to skin care. After all, the beauty of the oval of the face depends on its firmness and elasticity.

Cold compresses are a fairly effective procedure for improving skin tone. However, it is better to avoid this technique for people with fragile blood vessels.

Pieces of ice should be wrapped in a cloth and applied to the cheeks and chin. After this, you should massage and apply cream, patting your cheeks and chin.

Your eyes give away your age

Signs of aging eyes include drooping eyelids, bags under the eyes and wrinkles at the outer corner. To correct age-related changes, plastic surgery methods are used. To combat sagging skin and hernias, blepharoplasty and circumferential lifting are performed.

SM-Clinic doctors correct signs of aging in women using effective techniques. We use certified drugs and modern equipment. For consultation, make an appointment with our specialists.

Symptoms of neurosis

Pathology manifests itself both at the physical and psycho-emotional levels. Physical symptoms include increased sweating, rapid heartbeat, chest pain and dry mouth, headaches, blurred vision, tremors of the limbs, skin rashes, and menstrual irregularities in women.

Psychological symptoms: a feeling of loss of control, a feeling that the person is “going crazy”, fear of sudden death, excessive worry, high sensitivity and vulnerability.

  • Irritability;
  • Constant feeling of fatigue and apathy;
  • Increased sensitivity;
  • Social isolation;
  • Frequent and unexpected mood swings;
  • Disturbances in sleep and wakefulness;
  • Loss of interest in life or certain areas of it.

It is the constant feeling of anxiety for one’s life or the lives of loved ones that causes insomnia in a person. Problems with sleep do not allow the body and nervous system of those suffering from neurasthenia to fully rest. This, in turn, further intensifies all the symptoms listed above.

Therefore, for insomnia, experts recommend several simple and effective rules:

  • Follow a daily routine, that is, try to fall asleep and wake up at the same time;
  • Play sports, giving the body a light load;
  • Be in the fresh air more often;
  • Reduce the number of drinks containing caffeine;
  • Eat light foods to avoid stomach discomfort.

For what reasons does neurosis develop?

  • Strong mental activity;
  • Prolonged psychological distress and anxiety;
  • Psychological pressure due to the inability to solve life problems;
  • Long-term loneliness and problems in the personal sphere of life;
  • Traumatic event in life: loss of a loved one, difficult divorce, difficult financial situation, if the person has been subjected to emotional and physical abuse, etc.;
  • High expectations. In this case, the person cannot achieve the desired goal and experiences a feeling of an impossible plan;
  • Psychological trauma received in childhood: humiliation or beating from peers and parents, example of a bad lifestyle from adults, harsh upbringing;
  • Failure to comply with work and rest schedules.
