The protein diet is one of the most effective diets, but its effect is due to strict adherence to the rules. Despite the speed of weight loss with a diet limited to protein-based meals, this method of losing weight has its drawbacks and side effects that can worsen health.

Before switching to a protein diet that requires physical activity, it is recommended to consult with a nutritionist and therapist. Losing weight through fasting or eating exclusively raw foods occurs due to a decrease in muscle mass. Losing total body weight does not contribute to getting into good shape due to the remaining fat and the body’s gradual consumption of the muscles that form the body contour.

Ridding the body of excess weight with the help of a protein diet does not imply starvation and preserves muscle fibers thanks to the amino acids contained in protein foods. Dishes with a protein base have a long processing period, providing a prolonged feeling of fullness and reducing interest in food.

The effect of a protein diet is to accelerate the process of fat breakdown by eliminating as much of the acceptable amount of carbohydrates as possible from the diet. It is highly not recommended to completely remove carbohydrate-containing foods from the daily menu, since carbohydrates are responsible for preserving energy, providing it to cells and performing a building function. The most popular low-carbohydrate diets are the protein-rich Kremlin diet, the Atkins diet, Dukan diet, and the keto diet aimed at increasing fat intake and reducing protein and carbohydrates.

  • It is not necessary to use the whites immediately after they have been separated from the yolks. If you place them in a clean jar, close it tightly, and put them in the refrigerator, they will not spoil within 5 days. This applies to raw proteins. Boiled ones can be stored for only 2-3 days (also in a closed container in the refrigerator).
  • The shelf life of raw chicken proteins can be extended up to 6 months. To do this, they should be frozen.
  • For many dishes, the whites have to be beaten. It will be easier to do this if both the whites themselves and the dishes are pre-cooled. You are unlikely to be able to whip the whites into a dense foam if yolks, water or fat get into them.
  • Sometimes in recipes for protein foods the term “until firm peaks” is used. This means that after the corolla is removed from the protein mass, “peaks” stretched upward remain on it, which do not fall off for a long time.
  • If the recipe does not indicate the number of proteins, but their weight, you need to know that this part of a small chicken egg weighs about 30 g, a large one - 45 g (that is, about three-quarters of the weight of the entire egg).

Meringue is a delicious dessert that many enjoyed in childhood. But when there were no modern kitchen appliances, it took a lot of time to prepare meringues and not all attempts to beat egg whites were successful. Now, with a mixer and a slow cooker, meringue is one of the simplest desserts.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken egg – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 0.3 tbsp.
  • Salt – 1 pinch.

Cooking process:

1. Wash the egg thoroughly with hot water, carefully separate the white from the yolk and transfer it to a dry container. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt at low mixer speed.

2. Then increase the speed and continue beating for another 3-4 minutes.

3. Next, add sugar in portions; the mass will become denser and whiter before your eyes. Beat for another 5-7 minutes until stiff peaks form.

4. The correct protein mass should not flow out of the container when tilted.

5. Cover the bottom of the multicooker with foil. Place the protein mixture on it and form small cookies in the shape of roses.

6. Cook the meringue in the “Baking” mode for 3 hours, open the multicooker lid every 15-20 minutes to release steam. Carefully remove the meringue from the slow cooker, cool and serve the dessert with tea.

  1. Place the tomatoes in a deep plate, pour boiling water over them so that you can easily remove the peel with a knife. Cut the onion into small cubes.
  2. Peel the carrots, rinse, grate on a coarse grater.
  3. In a non-stick frying pan without adding oil with a little water, fry the carrots and onions, then add the tomatoes.
  4. Place the roast in a saucepan, add 1 liter of water, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and boil vegetables for 6 minutes.
  5. Cut the salmon into small pieces, add to the broth, after 5 minutes add milk. Then salt, spices and finely chopped herbs.
  6. Leave for 20 minutes before serving.

How to cook:

  1. Beat the egg whites with salt. While continuing to whisk, add ice water.

  3. Add starch and stir.

Protein dishes (for weight loss), the recipes of which are not only satisfying, but also quite varied, should be consumed as part of a diet according to the following rules:

  1. The protein content of dishes should exceed 30%. The main food is fish, meat, poultry, eggs, low-fat dairy and seafood products. You can also eat some types of mushrooms, for example, champignons contain predominantly protein, and contain carbohydrates and fats in very small quantities.

  2. Despite the condition of reducing the amount of carbohydrates in food, you cannot completely remove them from the diet. Basically, limit the consumption of foods with quickly digestible carbohydrates, including figs, bananas, potatoes, grapes and eggplants. The restriction also includes foods with slowly digestible carbohydrates, such as vegetable fats, bread, potatoes, pasta, as well as legumes and cereals that can be eaten for breakfast or lunch to maintain carbohydrates at an acceptable level.
  3. Meals are increased up to 4-5 times a day, reducing portions. The last meal should be taken no later than 2 hours before bedtime.
  4. In addition to carbohydrates, chocolate and other sweets are excluded from the daily menu. It is necessary to remove from the diet or limit as much as possible the intake of high-fat foods, sugar, flour, mayonnaise, alcoholic beverages, ketchup and unsuitable sauces, canned food and semi-finished products, cream, soda, baked goods and foods containing starch. Vegetables and fruits that suit their characteristics can be eaten in small quantities.
  5. To prevent the diet from causing digestive problems, you need to drink at least 2 liters of liquid per day. Instead of sweet drinks, drink vegetable smoothies, unsweetened tea, plain water and natural fruit drinks.
  6. It is necessary to calculate the calorie content of food consumed daily. Meat, for example, is a high-calorie food, and too much will interfere with the diet's effectiveness. A weight-loss protein diet only involves replacing carbohydrates with proteins, and not exceeding the daily calorie intake as a result of uncontrolled consumption of protein foods.

Protein diets are divided into types depending on the diet and duration. For example, a carbohydrate-protein diet can be made permanent, and the optimal period of stay on a protein-egg diet is 1 week. Certain foods recommended as part of one type of diet may not be acceptable when losing weight on another type of diet, so they should not be combined. What do you need:

  • egg whites – 4 pcs.;
  • milk – 80 ml;
  • fresh dill – 10 g;
  • butter – 15 g;
  • salt - to taste.

How to cook:

  1. Salt the whites and turn them into a dense foam using a mixer.
  2. Add milk and stir.
  3. Heat a frying pan, melt the butter in it. Place the protein mixture into it.
  4. Cover the pan with a lid. Simmer the omelette over low heat for 5 minutes, sprinkle with dill. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the whites are no longer runny.

Steamed protein omelette turns out even more delicious, but it takes a little longer to cook it this way (10-15 minutes).

Structure

Egg white consists of:

  • water - 80-85%;
  • protein - 12-14%;
  • fats and carbohydrates - up to 1%.

Of the components it contains that are most in demand by athletes, it is worth highlighting:

  • Ovalbumin is the basis of egg protein, which makes up 54%.
  • Ovotransferrin is another type of protein that has antibacterial function.
  • Lysozyme is an element that is contained in a minimal amount (3.5%). Used as a bacteriolytic enzyme.
  • Ovomucin is a complex multicomponent compound, the volume of which is 3%.

The mentioned components become the main dish of egg whites, so adding the right, varied and healthy “goodies” to the diet is important. So, they are used to make meringues, omelettes, cakes and other products (recipes for some of them will be given below).

Potato soufflé

What do you need:

  • egg whites – 4 pcs.;
  • fresh herbs - 4 sprigs;
  • potatoes – 0.5 kg;
  • bacon – 100 g;
  • butter – 60 g;
  • salt, pepper - to taste.

How to cook:

  1. Grease the souffle molds with oil and put them in the refrigerator.
  2. Boil peeled and chopped potatoes until soft. Drain off excess liquid. Add chopped herbs, pepper and salt, as well as softened butter. Mash the potatoes into a puree.
  3. Beat the whites separately. Combine a quarter of the protein mass with warm potatoes and stir. Add the remaining whites.
  4. Mix potatoes with diced and fried bacon.
  5. Place the potato mixture among the molds, leaving a centimeter from the edges.
  6. Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for a quarter of an hour.

As the soufflé cools, it falls off - this is an inevitable process. Therefore, it is advisable to serve the dish hot – as soon as it is ready.

Beneficial features

Protein is processed for use in the formation of new tissue, but it does not contain the amount of energy the body needs, and therefore it is taken from fat cells. At the initial stage, also called “drying,” of a protein-based diet, excess fluid leaves the body. As a result of the resulting stress, the body tries to replenish its fat reserves, but the protein obtained from proteins protects muscle fibers from splitting, which leads to the processing of fat deposits.

Dishes with a high level of protein help speed up metabolism, its intensity increases by 20-35% when digesting protein foods. Protein molecules are enzymes that facilitate these processes. At the same time, the time for processing calories by the body increases by several hours without changes in the speed of the process.

Other positive aspects of consuming protein foods:

  • 5 egg whites,

Beat the egg whites, and at the end of whipping, mix with granulated sugar and vanilla sugar.

  4. Break up the salt crust with a spoon. Remove the salt along with the skin.

How to prepare dishes on a protein diet

The protein diet menu includes a first course, a second course, a salad and light desserts. You can eat cooked food at any convenient time, distributing the daily caloric intake for weight loss within the framework of personal comfort, taking into account the time of awakening, work, training and other individual characteristics.

Recommended heat treatment methods:

  • stewing;
  • boiling;
  • baking.

Frying is permissible, but provided that no oil is added during the process. It is better to fry food in a non-stick frying pan.

  • “Far Eastern” seaweed salad – 1 jar;
  • squid – 0.5 kg;

Ingredients for a pie weighing about 400 g:

  • 1 cup flour,
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar,
  • 1/2 cup almonds,
  • 8 egg whites,
  • 1 g vanilla sugar.

Preparation:

Grind the almonds in an almond grater into fine grains. Cool the egg whites well and beat them into a stable foam. At the end of whipping, gradually add half the sugar. Mix the whites with all other products.

Thickly grease and sprinkle with flour or almond grits a mold or baking sheet, place the dough and bake for 30-40 minutes at 160-180°C.

Pavlova cake

What you need for the base:

  • proteins – 150 g;
  • powdered sugar – 0.3 kg;
  • corn starch - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • table vinegar (9 percent) – 5 ml.

What is needed for the cream:

  • cream with fat content 30-33% - 0.3 l;
  • instant gelatin – 1 tsp;
  • powdered sugar – 40-50 g.

What else is needed:

  • lemon wedge, a small piece of butter, fresh fruits and berries.

How to cook:

  1. Wipe the container in which you will beat the egg whites with a piece of lemon. Place the cold egg product and, using a blender, beat it into a thick foam.
  2. Add powdered sugar a tablespoon at a time and beat the egg whites to prepare the base of the cake (as for meringue). To stabilize the whites, add vinegar and starch, beat the whites together.
  3. Grease the springform rim of the cake pan with butter and place on parchment paper lined on a baking sheet. Place the whites in it, forming a well in the center for the filling.
  4. Remove the hoop. Place the cake base to bake in an oven preheated to 120-130 degrees. After 60-90 minutes, turn off the oven. Let the meringue cool in it.
  5. Pour 100 ml of cream and heat. Dissolve gelatin in a tablespoon of cold water. Pour into cream. Heat them until the gelatin dissolves completely. You cannot boil cream.
  6. Combine warm cream with cold cream and place in the refrigerator for a while.
  7. Whip the cooled cream with sugar. Fill the cavity in the egg white base with buttercream. Make a not very deep funnel in the center. Place fruits and berries cut into large pieces into it. Strawberries, cherries, and kiwis are suitable. Cool the dessert for several hours in the main compartment of the refrigerator.

There are many legends around this dessert, and who exactly came up with this recipe is not known for certain. There is only one fact - this airy delicacy is named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.

Meringue on a stick for decorating a cake

Besides the fact that meringue on a stick is a very tasty dessert, it can be an excellent decoration for a holiday cake. Give free rein to your imagination and turn your cake into a work of art.

  • water – 150 ml;
  • citric acid – 2 g;
  • agar-agar – 4 g;

  • condensed milk – 100 g.

What you need for the glaze:

  • dark chocolate – 80-100 g;
  • butter – 50-60 g.

How to cook:

  1. Combine half a stick of softened butter with 100 g of sugar and vanilla, beat. Add eggs, beat again. Mix the resulting mass with flour, divide into two parts. Form them into layers according to the diameter of the mold. Bake them at 180 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Cool.
  2. Soak the agar-agar in cold water.
  3. At low speed, start beating the egg whites. When they foam, add citric acid. Beat the egg product until stiff peaks form.
  4. Bring the water with agar-agar to a boil. Add sugar. Cook the syrup until it becomes viscous. While beating the egg whites, add the syrup.
  5. Separately, beat softened butter with condensed milk. Add the cream to the protein mass.

  2. Beat the whites, gradually adding sugar to them. Add starch and beat a little more.
  3. Add half of the coconut-oat mixture to the whites and mix with a spoon.
  4. Stir the remaining coconut and oats into the cream.
  5. Place a teaspoon of the mixture on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place in an oven preheated to 130 degrees.

The cookies need to be baked for 30-45 minutes (depending on whether you want them to remain soft inside).

How to make homemade meringue from protein and sugar?

Meringue is made from only two ingredients: egg whites and sugar. The main difficulty you may encounter is getting a thick and fluffy protein foam. You need to spend a lot of time to make the mass dense and airy.

Ingredients:

  • Proteins – 3 pcs.
  • Sugar – 150 gr.

Cooking process:

1. Carefully separate the whites from the yolks. Not a gram of yolk should get into the protein mass, otherwise the whites will not whip.

3. Gradually the whites will turn white and increase in volume.

4. Without stopping whisking, add sugar little by little and continue whisking for 6-7 minutes.

5. The protein mass will be ready for further work when a trace of the whisk remains on its surface.

6. Cover a baking sheet with baking paper, and use a pastry syringe to add the protein mixture.

7. Cook meringue at 90 degrees for 2 hours. The tasty and crispy meringue is ready, cool it and serve with tea.

  • wheat flour – 80-90 g;
  • almonds – 125 g;
  • lemon juice – 40 ml;
  • lemon zest – 1 tbsp. l.;
  • butter – 150 g;
  • sugar – 0.2 kg.

How to cook:

  1. Grind the almonds using a coffee grinder, mix with flour, zest and sugar.
  2. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
  3. Whisk the egg whites until foam forms (but not peaks).
  4. Add the dry mixture to them and stir.
  5. Add cooled butter and stir the dough again.
  6. Divide the batter into rectangular finance cups or regular round muffin cups.
  7. Place them in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 25 minutes.

Healthy homemade glazed cheesecakes that can be prepared with absolutely any filling. The filling can be fresh or frozen berries, fruits and even nuts. Believe me, after these cheesecakes you will definitely not want to buy them in the store anymore.

Ingredients:

  • Cottage cheese 5% – 300 g.
  • Vanilla extract – 2 drops.
  • Honey – 2 tbsp. l.
  • Chocolate 75% – 150 g.
  • Berries – 85 g.

Preparation:

  1. First, melt the dark chocolate in a water bath or in the microwave.
  2. Generously grease silicone muffin cups with melted chocolate. Be sure to take a silicone mold to make the products easier to get. Place the greased pan in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  3. Let's make the curd filling. Combine cottage cheese with honey, add a couple of drops of vanilla extract. Beat the mixture thoroughly with a blender.
  4. Fill the mold with chocolate with curd mixture halfway. We place one berry in the center of each product; I have frozen strawberries. Then cover with cottage cheese and gently press down with a spoon. Top with remaining melted chocolate.
  5. Return the cheesecakes to the freezer for 20–25 minutes. After this time, remove the products from the mold. We store the finished cheesecakes in the refrigerator.

Recipes for PP desserts – sweets at home

Proper nutrition does not mean that you have to strictly limit yourself in everything. With PP, you can and should eat sweets. But preference should be given to low-calorie sweets. And there are a lot of such sweets.

Homemade ice cream

We will need:

  • Banana;
  • Orange;
  • 70 g strawberries.

Cut the banana into slices and put it in the freezer for half an hour. Then take it out and beat it in a blender until a homogeneous mass is obtained. Add orange and beat again. At the end, add strawberries and beat well again.

Place the resulting mixture in molds, insert ice cream sticks and place in the freezer for 15 minutes. After this, remove the ice cream from the mold. That's it, it's ready!

Warm ice cream

We will need:

  • 250 g low-fat cottage cheese;
  • 1 cup currants;
  • Banana;
  • Honey - to taste.

Beat banana and berries in a blender. Add the resulting mixture to the cottage cheese and honey and beat again. Pour into molds.

Cottage cheese dessert

Required Ingredients:

  • 200 g low-fat cottage cheese;
  • 75 g natural yogurt;
  • 10 g gelatin;
  • 1 g each of vanillin and cinnamon.

Fill the gelatin with water and leave to swell, then heat until completely dissolved. Beat the remaining ingredients in a blender until smooth.

We will need:

  • 150 g cottage cheese;

  • 25 g coconut flour;
  • Sweetener;
  • ¼ tsp. soda

Mix egg, cottage cheese, sweetener. Add flour, dissolved soda and mix thoroughly. Fry the pancakes in a non-stick frying pan without oil.

Apple strudel without baking

To prepare it you will need:

  • Thin pita bread;
  • 3 apples;
  • A glass of milk;
  • 1 tbsp. l. corn starch;
  • 3 tbsp. l. honey;
  • Cinnamon, vanillin - to taste.

Cut the peeled apples into cubes and fry in a frying pan for 5 minutes. After this, add honey and cinnamon and mix well.

Prepare the cream: stir starch in cold milk, add vanillin and, stirring constantly, heat over low heat until thickened. Mix with filling and place on pita bread. Roll it into a roll and put it in the refrigerator to brew for half an hour. You can sprinkle powdered sugar on top.

Chocolate covered bananas with almonds

This simple dessert can be prepared with any fruit and berries, but in my opinion, bananas and chocolate go best. Instead of almonds, you can use any chopped nuts, coconut flakes or corn flakes as a topping.
