“I beat the odds: I went from being morbidly obese and unhappy with myself at 44% body fat to feeling happy and confident at 17%. I'm not saying that everyone will be happier if they only have 17% body fat. I'm not saying that one body is more beautiful than another. But I wasn't happy in my body before, I wasn't confident, I wasn't a good friend/family member. To change my future I needed to become healthy! Invest in yourself, every moment is worth it!”

From a fat woman to a fitness bikini model: how a Tula woman lost weight and made sports her life’s work

During my school years I was fat. She weighed 70 kg with a height of 162 cm. I know from myself what complexes are. I was embarrassed about my body and myself, was exempt from physical education, and always sat in the back desk so that no one would pay attention to me. If you had told me then that I would work in the fitness industry, I would never have believed it.

The starting point for my changes was the evening of the alumni meeting on the 10th anniversary of our graduation. This was 5.5 years ago. Then I realized that I urgently needed to get in shape. In the best traditions of all girls, I thought about this about a week before the event. I turned to my then future husband for help. He has been involved in sports since school and understood this area. I asked to train me, monitor my diet and not allow me to eat my favorite sausage.

I started working out, eating right, and within a week I lost about 5 centimeters from my abdominal area. This was a record for me, even more than I expected. Since then I haven't stopped. After 1.5-2 months, friends on the street began to compliment me.

In total I lost about 20 kg, at the last competition I weighed 48 kg. And most importantly, she tightened her figure and changed beyond recognition. Now I have performed at the Tula Grand Prix competition, where I entered the top three in the fitness bikini category up to 164 cm.

I inspired my friends with my example. Coincidentally, along with losing weight, I went to business training, where we were told how to promote ourselves. Of course, I shared the results of the training with my colleagues in the course. My eyes were burning, I told it very brightly, so they gave me the idea to share my experience with others. Well, why not try it?

She announced recruitment for her first group on social networks, and five girls she knew responded. She shared what she knew - training, knowledge on proper nutrition. A month later, the results were shocking. One girl lost weight from 67 to 60 kg, another lost 11 cm from her waist, but added 1 kg, because muscles weigh a lot. I realized that I could work with people and help them become better people. Since then, I haven’t given up this business again.

Our eating habits are formed in the family. We held candy, sausage, mayonnaise, chips and other harmful foods in high esteem. And in my grandmother’s village, where I went on vacation, there was always homemade sour cream, full-fat milk, and pancakes on the table. I thought it was normal, so when I was fat, I didn’t understand what I was doing wrong. I felt terribly uncomfortable, but I couldn’t fix anything.

I fainted from exhausting diets. Of course, I tried to lose weight: diets that had nothing to do with healthy eating, going to the gym once a week and constant breakdowns.

The first time I decided to lose weight was in the 10th grade. Someone told me that you can lose weight by drinking apple juice. I was at my grandmother’s in the village, there I found apple juice in three-liter jars and started drinking it. Sometimes I also rode a bicycle and believed that it would help. In addition to this, I ate fatty village food. The result is plus 5 kg on the scales. I remember how a girl told me at school that I had gained weight, and the teacher emphasized this. For a teenager this is like death, I closed myself off even more.

Then pineapple juice came into my life. Following advice from the Internet, I drank it every day.

As a result, my blood sugar dropped and then rose, and I began to faint. Continuing this was dangerous to health.

At a conscious age - at 23-24 years old - I tried to eat less, I didn’t eat all day, but I came home and stuffed the entire daily norm into myself. The belly and sides only grew.

My husband, who became my mentor, helped me get out. By the way, we met him at the gym. Only I went once a month, did some crazy things on videos from the Internet, and he went in for sports for real.

Failures did not break me. I always believed in the best, hoping that I would lose weight. I understood that I was breaking, that I was breaking down, but there was a chance to get in shape. When I took the matter seriously for the first time before the evening of meetings, I did not feel sorry for myself. I did cardio on the elliptical for 50 minutes until my hair was wet to the ends, and then I did strength training. Everything was strict with food too. I was guided by the rule: if you don’t want cottage cheese, you don’t want to eat it. If it was hard, I opened the refrigerator and took cottage cheese.

I am like a soldier by nature. I had a clear goal and nothing else interested me. I motivated myself with ideas about a different life, dreamed of what I would become, how my environment would change. Losing weight is not only external changes, but also a lot of internal work.

I am now instilling this in my clients. If you want to lose weight, draw in your head in detail what you want to become, what clothes to wear, what kind of reaction to yourself you see from others. Don't be shy, let these be your wildest dreams! If you have taken charge of yourself, but still allow yourself a cake at night, it means that it is simply more important and dearer to you.

That girl from the back desk still lives inside me. When she appears, I chase her with sticks. It is titanically difficult to transform from a bundle of complexes into a competition participant who goes on stage in a bright swimsuit in front of the jury. The first competition is the biggest fear in life. I didn’t even make it into the top five then, but for me it was a victory to just walk across the stage. By the way, I decided to perform after the film “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and Freddie Mercury still inspires me.

how to lose weight?

Get started now. Not everyone has money for a personal trainer. Start small. To begin with, just dance at home for 30 minutes a day, even this will help you become a different person and become more relaxed in just six months. It's better than nothing. Well, video training will help you (sometimes they appear, by the way, on Tanya’s Instagram). Don’t load yourself up right away, find workouts for beginners so as not to discourage you from exercising. Increase the load gradually, everything will work out! And don't forget to walk. 10-12 thousand steps a day helps you lose weight. This is a waste of additional calories and a good load on the body.

There is no magic pill. Girls often look for easy ways. What I don’t hear from clients: grapefruits, pills, cinnamon, goji berries, miracle creams... It doesn’t help! You can only lose weight with proper nutrition and exercise. Moreover, 80% of success depends on food; a calorie deficit will help you lose weight. The remaining 20% is training 3-4 times a week, which will tighten the body and form a beautiful figure. The BJU formula will be useful. Ideally, the diet should contain 40% proteins, 30% fats and 30% carbohydrates.

A good mood and faith in success are also important. Hang a beautiful photo in front of you, from the Internet or yourself, when you are in good shape, and remind yourself of what you are trying for.

You can afford something tasty. The main thing is to fit into the calorie norm and maintain balance. Let 80% of the food be good, and 20% be goodies. For girls, the daily norm is usually 1400-1600 kcal, that is, 200-300 kcal can be spent on sweets.

You can, of course, lose weight on chocolates if you fit them into the norm, but your skin will be flabby and your butt will be saggy. I don't think that's what you're aiming for.

Don't blame yourself for what you eat. Many people have breakdowns. But if you start to feel guilty, everything will go south. Just forget about it and go back to normal.

If you constantly break down, take a weight loss partner. If you can't afford a trainer, let it be a friend or acquaintance. Send him workout and nutrition reports every day from a calorie counting app. It's not strange. I work as a coach now, but I also have a mentor to whom I report to in order to be in shape for performances.

Everyone has a chance. Some people see opportunities, while others look for reasons and excuses for idleness. You can get the figure of your dreams. Look for any opportunities for this. Having trouble meeting your daily steps requirement? Swap the elevator for the stairs and walk the extra stop. Can't go to the gym? Practice at home! You can do anything!
