World records
in the bench press - these are international records in the bench press for many years, regardless of weight class or governing organization, for the back press without the use of a bridge technique.
The advent of bench press shirts, which support the lifter's shoulders and provide lifting force, has increased records significantly since 1985 (for example, when the shirt record was 437.5 kg (965 lb), the shirtless record was 323 kg (713 lb)). . [1] As of 2022, the world record for the bench press without any equipment ("raw") was set by American Julius Maddox at 355 kg (782 lb). [2] The current world record in equipment (with jersey) is held by American Will Barotti at 501 kg (1,105 lb). [3]
The women's equipped bench press record is held by Becca Swanson of the United States, who lifted 272.5 kg (601 lb) (2008, American Powerlifting Federation standards)[4], and the unequipped bench press record is held by April Mathis, also of the United States . , who lifted 207 kg (457 lb) (2016 Southern Powerlifting Federation standards). The secret of success of record holders
Ryan Keneally shares the story of his rise to the sporting Olympus. According to the champion, the basis for success and progress in training is motivation and enthusiasm. Persistence is the path to conquering sporting horizons.
There are three key training mistakes that need to be recognized and avoided: overtraining, underloading, and unplanned increase in working weights. Thus, Keneally believes that bench press training should occur no more than twice a week. Three times a year it is necessary to reach the weight limit in order to observe your own development of potential; the rest of the time, training should take place with submaximal weights (barbell weight exceeding 90% of the athlete’s maximum result in a given exercise).

Foundation of the IPF[edit]
With the creation of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), the federation began maintaining "official" powerlifting world records as the international governing body of powerlifting. Previous records that were not set under the newly established rules were reset (for example, elbow bands were allowed before the formation of the IPF, but were later banned). These are the official bench press records after the IPF reset until they exceed Jim Williams' previously set mark of 306 kg (675 lb).

Sarychev's reaction to the new record
Kirill was one of the first to congratulate his colleague on his Instagram profile:
“You are the best, brother. Congratulations and thank you for the motivation. See you on the platform."
What does it mean? Will Kirill really come back and show the whole world once again who is truly the strongest? Or are these just words... Time will show.
As far as I know, he is now busy with other routine activities, and training requires a lot of time, effort and, most importantly, money. You understand that without financial support such events do not happen and champions do not become.
By the way, Eddie Hall recently said that he also wants to take part in the fight for the title in the bench press and perhaps in 2-3 years, or maybe earlier, we will see a real fight among the giants. He currently holds the world record for deadlift of 500 kilograms.
Here's a video of Eddie talking about his preparation. Very interesting, I recommend watching it.
