Following a strict diet is difficult. This is why many women prefer to spend one or two fasting days. It is believed that weight comes off quickly during such days, and the body suffers less. And the mood is not as gloomy as when on a diet. Are fasting days really beneficial? What foods should you eat at this time? Are there any pitfalls? We answer.

Are fasting days useful?

Definitely yes. But only if you follow a few rules:

  • You don't have to give up food completely. This way you can only harm your body. The main thing is to reduce the number of calories consumed to 500.
  • The daily diet should consist of foods that are rich in fiber and protein. It is better to exclude carbohydrate foods. You also need to give up alcohol.
  • During unloading, sports are prohibited.
  • The number of meals should be increased to at least 4-5.
  • You need to drink at least two liters of clean drinking water per day. You can also introduce green tea into your diet.

The point of fasting days is that during the day the body gets used to eating a little less than usual. This will help you fill up on small amounts of food the next day, which will help you lose weight. In addition, during such days the load on the stomach and intestines is significantly reduced. This allows the digestive tract to rest and cleanse itself. All this has a positive effect on your well-being and appearance. If you regularly deload for a month, you will notice that you get better sleep, feel more energetic, and your skin condition has improved.

General description of pathology and principles of diet

Gout is an inflammation of the joints that progresses over time. The pathology is caused by a violation of purine metabolism. The body produces excess uric acid in the blood. The mechanism of development of the disease is not fully understood.

Causes of the disease:

  • ingestion of large amounts of purines into the body along with foods;
  • hereditary predisposition;
  • decreased intensity of uric acid excretion in urine;
  • increased formation of uric acid.

Diet for gout is an important component of treatment. Nutrition is organized in such a way as to reduce the amount of uric acid compounds in the body.

Diet principles:

  • if you are overweight, you need to reduce it;
  • control the consumption of the required amount of fluid;
  • limit the amount of foods containing large amounts of purine substances, for example, meat, fish;
  • increase the number of dishes that contain small amounts of purine compounds, for example, milk, cereals.

A proper diet is necessary in a set of measures to improve the condition of a patient with gout.

Fasting day on vegetables, one day menu

A day on the vegetable menu helps you come to your senses after a hearty feast, and also saves you in a situation where the scales stubbornly refuse to change their readings. This happens when the body adapts to a changed diet, as a result of which weight stops losing. A fasting day activates your metabolism and helps you continue your path to slimness. It is also a good idea to carry it out to cleanse the intestines of waste and toxins, as a preventive measure for atherosclerosis, and to remove excess fluid from the body. Since vegetables are easy food for the digestive tract, increasing the number of calories consumed to 1500 is acceptable.

The most popular vegetables for unloading are beets, carrots and cabbage. But even more often, women choose cucumbers. Let us give as an example the menu of one cucumber fasting day:

  • first meal (immediately after sleep). A glass of cucumber-kefir cocktail. Peel 100 grams of cucumbers and beat in a blender with kefir. You can add mint to the cocktail to taste.
  • Breakfast. Apple puree – 100 grams.
  • Lunch. One green apple.
  • Dinner. Salad of cucumbers and greens (you can use any) – 150 grams.
  • Afternoon snack. One baked apple.
  • Dinner. A glass of cucumber-kefir cocktail.
  • Before bedtime. One green apple.

Please note that the cucumber diet is contraindicated for people with ulcers and gastritis.

Apples for unloading

Nutritionists have different opinions about apple fasting days. Some consider them the most effective for weight loss and easily tolerated. Others say that it is difficult for the body to tolerate large quantities of apples. Such food can cause a laxative effect, which is not good for the body. Experts agree on one thing: apples normalize kidney function and saturate the body with vitamins.

Before your fasting day, eat one apple. If your feeling of hunger has not dulled, choose some other foods to unload. Also, a day on apples is not recommended for allergy sufferers, people with high stomach acidity, ulcers, or gastritis.

There are two types of apple fasting days. The first option involves eating two kilograms of fresh and baked apples during the day. The menu of the second option is made up of a kilogram of apples and 600 grams of low-fat cottage cheese.

Benefit

Among the advantages of fruit-based fasting days are the following:

  • Fruits mainly consist of fiber; it cleanses the intestines, removing harmful substances;
  • Metabolism is being established;
  • Thanks to a low-calorie diet, fat mass is reduced;
  • Due to the high content of vitamins and microelements, the condition of the skin and hair improves;
  • A fruit fasting day is much easier to tolerate than other fasting options;
  • The charge of cheerfulness and energy does not leave you all day.

Unloading on kefir

This is one of the most favorite weight loss methods for women. Kefir is good for the body. It strengthens the immune system, normalizes digestion, removes excess fluid from the body, as well as waste and toxins. Nutritionists advise removing fatty foods from the diet a day before fasting so that the body can more easily tolerate the transition to a light, non-calorie product. The diet is strictly prohibited for people with individual intolerance to casein and lactose, as well as for serious diseases of the digestive tract.

Those who want to lose weight can choose one of two unloading options:

  • Difficult. During the day, drink one and a half liters of low-fat kefir (the volume is divided into 5-6 servings). It is acceptable to drink non-carbonated mineral water.
  • Light: kefir-curd. In the morning you can drink kefir and eat some cottage cheese. For lunch, cottage cheese with kefir and fresh berries. Drink kefir between lunch and dinner. In the evening, cottage cheese with kefir is eaten. During the day, you should drink a liter of kefir and eat 400 grams of cottage cheese.

Fasting days on buckwheat

Buckwheat is one of the healthiest grains. It contains a lot of vitamins, microelements, dietary fiber, and improves intestinal function. If you have intestinal or stomach diseases, it is better to avoid losing weight on buckwheat.

There are two options:

  • For those who are confident in their abilities, it is suggested to take 250 grams of buckwheat and pour boiling water over the cereal overnight in a ratio of 1:3. Salt and seasonings cannot be added; fresh herbs are allowed, which are added to the porridge before serving. Divide the resulting buckwheat into 5 servings.
  • For those trying a fasting day for the first time, another option is suitable. To buckwheat steamed with boiling water (400 grams) add 250 grams of boiled mushrooms and some greens. The porridge is divided into 5-6 doses. Before going to bed, you can drink a glass of low-fat kefir.

Who should not do fasting days?

Carrying out fasting days is strictly prohibited:

  • children and teenagers;
  • pregnant and nursing mothers;
  • people with weak immunity;
  • those who have recently had an infectious disease or surgery;
  • having diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

It is recommended that you consult with your healthcare provider before selecting decongestion products. After all, the same product can improve the condition of one disease, but harm another.

Contraindications

  • Pregnancy
    Not only those who love baking and fried foods want to lose a couple of unnecessary kilos. Girls in an interesting position sometimes rush things, wanting to get thinner. The result of such an experiment can be premature birth, polyhydramnios, and lack of lactation. It is almost impossible to predict harm to a child. If you are already pregnant, be patient a little longer for the sake of your baby's health. Give birth - and then lose weight.
  • During breastfeeding
    For a nursing mother during breastfeeding, hunger strikes, fasting days and sudden reductions in diet are also usually not recommended: this can affect the milk and harm the baby. Such measures are taken only if the benefits for the mother or child outweigh the negative consequences. By the way, breastfeeding in itself helps to lose weight, since thanks to feeding, a woman’s body burns an additional 500 kcal daily.
  • Any diseases of the gastrointestinal tract
    Fasting days (especially hungry without food) days are strictly prohibited for gastritis (you will bring yourself to an ulcer, on the contrary, you are advised to have frequent meals in small portions strictly balanced according to the KBZHU), pancreatitis (some shout that a sick pancreas loves hunger - BUT, while you the doctor did not allow it, we don’t invent treatment for ourselves, it can worsen), constipation (you will only worsen your situation + due to stagnation of feces, skin problems, allergies and poor health may arise, and from fruitless attempts - anal fissures and hemorrhoids), problems with the bile ducts and bile ducts (again, only on the recommendation of a doctor).
  • Before the diet
    Fasting before the diet will not help you, but rather will hinder you, especially if you have not formed the habit of eating healthy foods in adequate quantities. It would be wiser to postpone these days to a period when you can easily maintain the diet itself and its nutrition plan.

  • For a teenager (child)
    We can recommend arranging fasting days for children and teenagers not in terms of calorie content, but in the choice of products: 1 day without meat, poultry and offal, as well as fish, that is, feed vegetables, fruits, milk, cereals.
  • For swelling

    To solve problems with edema, you don’t need to do fasting days and fast. First of all, you need to understand what type of edema you have (for example, there can be a very scary thing like lymphatic edema and all your unloading will fly by). To do this, read our article Edema: causes and remedies and go to the doctor.

How often should you spend fasting days?

There is an opinion that unloading must be carried out for at least 3 days to achieve maximum effect. Actually this is not true. Unloading is not a diet, but only a temporary respite for the body. It can be organized no more than twice a week with breaks (for example, on Tuesday and Friday). Some types of deloading involve reducing the amount to once a week.

What happens if you break the rules and spend 2-3 fasting days in a row? There will be a deficiency of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, and metabolism will be disrupted. Mineral and vitamin imbalance will cause gastrointestinal disorders and anemia. If you regularly repeat two and three days of unloading, irreversible consequences will begin in the muscles. As a result, instead of health, you will get a bunch of diseases that are difficult to treat.

What result should you expect?

In addition to the fact that a fasting fruit day is easily tolerated and gives a boost of energy, it also gets rid of extra centimeters at the waist and improves the functioning of many organs and systems (everything here is individual and depends on the chosen product).

How much can you lose?

According to reviews from those who, among other options, prefer to relieve the body with fruits, weight loss can range from 0.3 to 0.5 kg.

Photos before and after

Fasting days have gained popularity due to their high efficiency, low load on the nervous system and maximum benefits from consuming one product. You can deliciously relieve your body with the help of fruits; they give you a feeling of fullness and do not cause discomfort. It is not so difficult to endure one day on juicy and sweet fruits, and if you practice fasting days regularly, the weight will disappear rapidly.
