Those who attended school before the collapse of the Soviet Union remember three cherished letters - GTO, or “Ready for Labor and Defense” - a physical and cultural training program that was based on a unified and state-supported system of patriotic education of the population. This program has many positive aspects, GTO standards for people of all ages, by taking part in this program you get both a team spirit of competition and an introduction to a healthy lifestyle.

Goals and objectives of the TRP
One of the goals and objectives of the GTO complex program is to attract Partner rewards for using the symbols of the complex. This approach to business allows you to save state budget funds on costs associated with maintaining the GTO complex. This also increases the attractiveness of sports and a generally healthy lifestyle among the broad masses of our population. In general, diverse work is being done, new goals are being set, current tasks are being systematically solved, all this is being done for the most successful implementation of the GTO complex on the territory of the Russian Federation for many years to come (2015, 2016, 2022, 2022, 2022, 2022 and beyond, following the main duty - “Improvement of the Russian nation!”).
In 2022, one of the primary tasks for the organizers of the GTO complex is to combine all available resources and forces to more effectively and efficiently inform the population of our country. As a result, this will certainly arouse more interest in the program not only among students of schools and universities, but also among work teams, there will be more participants in the program, and this is the main goal of the TRP - to introduce as many people of our country as possible to sports and a healthy lifestyle .

What advantages can a gold GTO badge give to an applicant?
If an applicant has a gold TRP badge, this must be indicated when submitting documents to the university. A numbered certificate is issued for the badge, which indicates the type of badge, first name, patronymic and last name of its owner. You will need to present it as proof of your achievements. Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated October 14, 2015 No. 1147 states that upon admission to a university, additional points may be awarded for such an achievement. The specific number of points is not indicated, but it is said that for individual achievements there cannot be more than 10 points in total. A gold badge received during training can help you transfer to a budget place or receive an increased scholarship. For each specific university, you need to find out the latest information on the official website, in the admissions committee or in the admissions office of the dean of your faculty.

A person’s physical fitness is the totality of the physical qualities of the body, its functional capabilities, developed as a result of targeted training. This is a process aimed at the harmonious development of the human body and spirit. Physical fitness indicators depend on gender and age.
The main parameters that determine the level of physical fitness of an athlete:
- general endurance of the body - the ability to withstand overloads;
- good coordination;
- speed;
- force;
- body plasticity;
- general level of skill.
Possessing these qualities, an athlete has every chance of successfully passing test tasks.

The GTO sports system today: popularly about the complex
A sedentary lifestyle, aggravated by poor nutrition and lack of physical activity, usually leads to the emergence and development of diseases, many of which can even threaten human life. Fortunately for many, today sports, body culture, a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet are becoming a fashionable trend. Moreover, the “adherents” of all this are getting younger every year, which is especially pleasing.
GTO is an abbreviation that can be deciphered as “ready for work and defense.” In fact, this is a complex (set) of exercises that are aimed at significantly increasing physical fitness, and at the same time morale. Based on the results of implementation and growth of capabilities, tests and checks are carried out, which indicate the results of the work done on oneself.
A brief glimpse into history: how it happened
The physical education and sports complex was invented and properly organized back in the thirties of the last century. The Supreme Council for Physical Education thus intended to significantly increase the population's interest in sports and instill a craving for a healthy lifestyle.
The standards “took root”, and for a long time schoolchildren and students took them in their educational institutions. However, at the turn of the century after the destruction of the Soviet Union, they stopped paying attention to the implementation of the GTO.
What do the coming years promise?
In 2013, the President of the Russian Federation decided to revive the institution of the GTO, concerned about the level of physical unpreparedness of young people. Since that time, the system has been constantly improved, refined, and new indicators, exercises, and sports have been introduced. The updated standards of the TRP 2022 according to the tables of standards by level for athletes of different ages and genders, implies an assessment from the youngest schoolchildren (from 6 years old) to pensioners.
In its modern version, this is called the “Ready for Labor and Defense” festival, in which absolutely anyone can take part. There is an official table of approved results, according to which the assessment is carried out. More detailed information can be found on the official website.
Why pass the GTO standards: who needs it?
Today, having a beautiful body, defined muscles and good health has become truly fashionable. This is a well-known fact, which is why many people engage in some kind of sports. However, not everyone can pass the standards by level, and not everyone understands why they need it. Motivation can be different for everyone.
- The smallest six-year-old schoolchildren pass the GTO standards in order to get into the amazing Artek health camp in Crimea.
- For graduates of secondary schools, passing the standards will help them gain a few extra points for the Unified State Exam, which will be taken into account when entering a university.
- Students who have officially passed the standards can qualify for an additional bonus (supplement) to the usual academic scholarship.
- Those who have already weaned themselves will in return receive a healthy, strong, resilient and strong body, as well as good health and resistance to disease.
Even older people, and sometimes very old people, can find an explanation for themselves why they need it and what benefits they will get from it. After all, the GTO can be a chance to seriously prove to yourself and others that there is still gunpowder in the flask. Even at a fairly advanced age, life can be active, interesting, healthy, and most importantly – varied and rich. You can take the Cooper test for yourself to check your preparation in advance.
Innovations for 2022 and 2022
The GTO exercise program is constantly being improved and changed, new disciplines are added to it, and old ones become a thing of the past. All this happens in accordance with the requirements and trends of the time. In 2022, there were quite serious revisions for students in schools of levels I-IV. Regarding other age groups, you can safely focus on the indicators of previous years, all of them remain valid.
- Standardization of test conditions.
- Additional end-to-end assessment methods.
- Recording the results obtained during testing in the metric system.
- Possibility of taking tests by people with disabilities (disabled people).
The changes were never put into effect that year due to many legal pitfalls. However, for 2022, most likely, everything will be ready. Then it will be possible to pass all the standards, according to the new rules.
FAQ
As more and more people want to pass the GTO standards, beginners often have questions about organizing the event. Let's answer some of them.
Which tests require multiple attempts?
You can complete up to four standards in one day, which means it is impossible to pass all the GTO tests at once. It is worth understanding that you have one attempt to complete it, you cannot redo it. Therefore, you should carefully prepare in advance to comply with the TRP standards and come to the Testing Center when you are confident in your abilities.
If you have not completed the tests, you can take the test again, but not earlier than after 45 days.
Time limit for testing
Some tests have a certain time limit. For example, lifting the torso from a supine position is performed within one minute. The remaining standards are made either for the time during which the distance will be covered, or for the number of times completed.
How to pass the GTO standards
If you have familiarized yourself with the standards in your group in detail and would like to be tested, send an application in your personal account to the Testing Center in your locality. To do this, at the top of the page, click on the “Testing Centers” tab. Here, indicate your city, after which you will be presented with a list of all the nearest TRP branches.
If you click on one of the Centers, you will see its address, work schedule and contact numbers. Call the number provided and sign up for testing. The testing center refers to special sites where the GTO standards are passed. All conditions for competition are created here.
Features of passing the GTO standards for school-age children:
- You must bring a health certificate and Parental Consent to the competition;
- You cannot do all the exercises in one day;
- standards can be passed during the academic year - from July to June;
- It is acceptable to pass 3-4 standards per day.
Adults must provide a health certificate and a participant’s passport. Specific days are usually set for delivery. Adults can take the standards throughout the calendar year. No one is allowed to retake the test, so it is recommended to prepare well and distribute your strength wisely.
Why and who needs standards?
During the Soviet Union, every schoolchild, student, and worker was required to pass the GTO standards. Since 2014, participation in passing the standards has become voluntary. Any person who cares about health and decent physical shape can undergo training and pass the GTO standards.
Feeling good, fit figure, strong muscles, agility are the benefits of a person who regularly plays sports.
To encourage young people to play sports, measures have been taken at the state level aimed at its popularization. Since 2015, many universities in the country have awarded additional points to applicants’ Unified State Exam results for passing certification and receiving a badge. Students with gold badges can qualify for an increased scholarship award.
The Minister of Sports of Russia put forward a proposal to employers, in which he called on them to encourage employees who passed the certification. According to the conditions, they can receive financial compensation or additional days of vacation.
Categories and titles in athletics
Any ranks and titles can be obtained only by participating in competitions and fulfilling the standards established by the Russian Athletics Federation. Children under 18 years of age can only apply for youth categories. III category is assigned to athletes under the age of 14 years. From 14 to 16 years old you can go to II. And from 16 to 18 years old, receive the 1st youth category.
More significant sports titles are Candidate Master of Sports (CMS), Master of Sports (MS), International Master of Sports (MSMK) and Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
Titles, starting from “Master of Sports” and above, are awarded once for life. But athletes have to constantly confirm their ranks. “Candidate Master of Sports” is renewed every three years, and categories from 1 to 3 – every 2 years. To do this, you must either compete in competitions or pass standards.
By the way, it is quite possible for amateurs to obtain ranks in athletics up to Candidate Master of Sports. But, unfortunately, it is almost impossible for a running fan to “run” to “Master of Sports”. Although amateurs, just like professional athletes, need to confirm the rank they have received and pass the standards.
Features of the races
It should be noted that 10 km and 10,000 m are two separate types of races. 10,000 m is the official distance of the Olympic Games. The distance is used in many European and world competitions; a list of thematic awards is provided for overcoming 10,000 m. The process is carried out at the stadium.
