Anna Turaeva: before and after photos, the story of how the powerlifting champion changed beyond recognition

Anna Turaeva is a Russian athlete, absolute champion of the World, Russia and Europe in powerlifting, who has made discipline, honesty and love of peace the main principles of her life. Strikingly different in her photographs taken in her youth and the heyday of her career, before and after taking steroids, looking more like a stocky, pumped-up man, the girl often faces condemnation and criticism, but is completely happy with herself and her appearance, not wanting to change for the sake of negative tuned public.

Biography: Anna Turaeva in childhood and youth

Anna was born on August 18, 1978 in Tuapse, Krasnodar region. It's hard to believe that this strong woman was exempt from physical education as a child. This is due to a birth injury to the spine, which did not allow the child to live in peace due to the displacement of the cervical vertebrae. Headaches, fainting, dizziness - all this tormented the girl for a long time.

For the first time, Anya fainted in front of her parents due to oxygen starvation. Doctors said that the girl would not live more than five years.

Later, Anya began working out in the gym in secret from her parents, a process that greatly fascinated the girl. Films with Arnold Schwarzenegger motivated her to play sports. Later, the parents found out and eventually supported their daughter in her hobbies. Her father, being a turner, welded equipment for her training.

Until her sixteenth birthday, the girl was practically no different from others: she wore dresses and long hair. Even then, Anya began to engage in strength training, sambo and taekwondo. The girl got her first tattoo at the age of thirteen.

As Anya says about herself in her youth, she was hot-tempered, even rushing into fights.

Beauty secrets

Anna Turaeva, despite her unconventional appearance, considers herself a real woman who does not neglect the rules of self-care and even visits beauty salons.

Personal care

Maintaining the beauty and health of Anna's face and body is managed by her friend and partner, Victoria, who owns her own beauty salon, where 42-year-old Turaeva regularly undergoes facial cleansing and exfoliation, as well as laser, skin-rejuvenating treatments. The athlete especially likes massage, which helps relax muscles after active training.

Turaeva Anna posts before and after photos (in her youth the athlete was very sickly) in the public domain, and from them you can see that her mandatory weekly procedure is a high-quality manicure. She is also considering lip augmentation.

Nutrition

The “healthy diet” of a powelynfingist is based on maintaining optimal weight and normal water-salt balance in the body, and therefore consists only of natural products, a large amount of vegetables, poly and monosaturated acids and protein.

A special diet helps the athlete’s body to better prepare and tolerate heavy loads, and also includes the following nutritional rules:

  1. You need to eat every 2-3 hours, distributing the daily dose of 3000 calories over 6 meals.
  2. The basis of the diet should be lean white, allowing for maximum muscle growth and increased training strength. Vegetables can be consumed at any time, but fruits and other carbohydrate foods can be added to the diet only after training.
  3. Every day it is necessary to include in your diet polyunsaturated and monosaturated fats Omega-3 and 6, obtained from fish, nuts, flaxseed and sunflower oil and are responsible for maintaining the body's immunity.
  4. As for drinks, only liquids containing 0 calories are allowed (green tea, herbal infusions and water), which can significantly improve body proportions without changing nutrition.
  5. It is allowed to include a small amount of natural substitutes in the diet, although the bulk of the diet should consist of natural products.
  6. You should prepare your meals and plan your diet in advance, which will help you avoid unwanted fast food snacks.
  7. The diet should be as varied as possible and provide the body with microelements and vitamins.

Until recently, her mother was in charge of the athlete’s nutrition, but with the appearance of Anna Victoria in her life, this responsibility fell on her shoulders. Turaeva also notes that she herself knows how to cook well and periodically pampers her beloved with home-cooked dishes.

Sport

Anna Turaeva’s training regimen is very strict and the athlete trains for several hours every day. The athlete calls competition days her days off, after which she starts training again. In addition to professional sports, Anna works as a coach and has coached more than 40 men, women and children to each of whom she finds a special approach.

"Beauty is within a person"

Anna Turaeva firmly believes that the real beauty of a person is in his soul. Distinguished by her original appearance and often faced with condemnation, the athlete believes that a woman needs to love her body the way it is and be proud of it.

Anna herself considers herself a completely non-offensive person, but when faced with condemnation, she simply crosses the person out of her life. The athlete also notes that she was lucky to meet people on her way who pay attention primarily to the inner world and leave her the right to change at her own request.

Tattoos

Anna Turaeva, as can be seen in the photo, has several tattoos on her body, created from individual elements, including stingrays, monitor lizards, faces, sharks and the sun. The athlete got her first tattoo when she was very young – at the age of 13.

A friend of hers bought the machine herself and easily tested it on everyone, and gave Anna a bracelet on her hand.

Then Turaeva liked Polynesia, which means “a warrior who brings victory.” It was this meaning that all her subsequent tattoos acquired, where each detail has its own, separate story.

Each time, after a new symbol appeared on Anna’s body, changes took place in her life, and the more signs appeared, the more clearly Turaeva understood exactly who she wanted to become. So, every time a problem arose in her life, Anna created a new tattoo and the problem spontaneously disappeared.

Sports career

In 1997, Anna plunged into bodybuilding when she felt empowered. After 8 years of hard training and performances, the bodybuilder tore her back. The injury did not allow me to return to full training. All that the bodybuilder could do at that moment were exercises without compression on the spine. Anna performed exercises in a horizontal position for a long time.

In 2007, a young girl had a chance to attend the powerlifting championship in Novorossiysk, where her friend took part. The athlete did not intend to participate, but her friend invited her to compete in the bench press. Then Anna won her first powerlifting competition. Weighing 63 kg, the girl pressed a barbell weighing 110 kg from her chest. From that moment on, Anna’s career began in a new sport, where she managed to conquer the peaks.

Fighter mode with game break

Last year, on December 22, Nastya turned six years old. The little girl's lifestyle is very different from her peers. She trains six times a week - currently doing weightlifting, taekwondo, bench press and gymnastics.

Sergei told us what the little athlete’s days are like.

Nastya has a routine. She knows that in the morning she needs to get up, eat, read a prayer and go to class. Sometimes he gets capricious, but after four hours of training he always runs out happy and satisfied. I don't know where she gets so much energy. Maybe it's our genetics. Sergey Speransky

coach, father of Anastasia Speranskaya

Monday, Wednesday, Friday – taekwondo classes in the morning. Tuesday, Thursday – weightlifting. Gymnastics – 5 days a week: from 14:00 to 18:00. In between workouts - lunch, on the road - watching cartoons on your phone. There are bench press classes on Saturdays, and a well-deserved day off on Sundays.

According to Speransky, Nastya does not adhere to any special diet and eats whatever she wants, in particular pasta and cutlets. Sweets and chocolates are also allowed, and the weightlifting coach often pampers her with sweets for new records.

On Sundays, Nastya likes to play with her friend. The girls live on the same landing and run to visit each other all the time. The Speranskys' neighbor practices dancing. By the way, Nastya also tried this direction, but somehow it didn’t work out.

“We went to dances at two years old, but for some reason she came out of every training session in tears, in the end she didn’t like them,” explains Sergei.

In addition to games and cartoons, Nastya grows plants with her mother and loves her pets, of which the Speranskys have plenty, as they maintain a nursery at home: 8 cats, a dog, a lizard, a turtle, and fish. By the way, the Oriental cat also followed in the footsteps of its owners - it became the champion at the FIFe World Cat Show in Prague in 2014.

Achievements in sports

The girl’s career began as a powerlifter at competitions in the Krasnodar region, and later she became the absolute Champion of Russia. Later she conquered the Eurasian championships. The woman’s success did not end there. She flew to the World Championships in Las Vegas, where she became the World Champion and set a new world record.

In 2010, at a competition, assistants did not manage to take the barbell from the athlete in time, which contributed to a torn biceps and triceps, as well as a fractured elbow. Doctors said that the girl would not be able to continue her sports career, but 4 months after rehabilitation, Anya set three world records.

Julia Vince

Julia Vince is a “strong girl with a doll face.” The girl first came to the “rocking room” when she was 15 years old, and what brought her there was the desire to become stronger and more self-confident. She started powerlifting, and the results were not long in coming.

Yulia is only 22 years old, but she already squats 202.5 kg and deadlifts 165 kg. and bench presses as much as 100 kg! Believe me, these are very impressive numbers!

Julia believes that people live by stereotypes and believe that the female sex should be weak and fragile. However, the girl believes that a person can become what he himself dreams of, without regard to society. The athlete regrets that she did not immediately get to a good coach who would help and give her advice.

Transformation: before and after sports

From the age of sixteen, Anna Turaeva was fond of heavy strength training and changed her image, preferring sports and versatile clothes and shoes.

Hard work in the gym and the use of steroids began to visually transform a female powerlifter into a man: a strong torso looks massive and courageous, secondary sexual characteristics have completely disappeared. Anna began to shave her head bald. The photos of her transformation are impressive.

“I consider myself a woman,” Anya shared in an interview for a women’s magazine.

Candice Armstrong

Candice worked as a bartender in London for a long time, and later began working out at the gym. She came to the world of barbells and dumbbells like the previous girls - for confidence and was so carried away that she spent three hours every day on strength exercises. After two years, Candice was still unhappy with the results and began taking steroids.

According to her, Armstrong did not intend to look like a man, but the changes became so great that it was too late to stop (quote).

The facial expression and cheekbones became larger and rougher, menstruation almost disappeared, hair began to grow thicker on the arms and legs, a mustache, beard and sideburns also appeared on the face, the voice became much lower, and acne also appeared on the arms and in other interesting places.

By the way, Candice does not regret at all that she became a man; on the contrary, she is very proud of herself and she wildly likes her voice, muscles, and powerful breasts. She happily takes pictures and gives interviews.

Andreas Krieger

Now Andreas owns a small store, and until 1997, Heidi was a woman and a shot thrower who was nearly driven insane by steroids. At some point, according to Heidi herself, she completely ceased to understand who she really was - a woman or a man. This drove her into such depression that the athlete even tried to take her own life.

Later she found a way out - and Heidi Krieger simply ceased to exist - Andreas Krieger appeared in her place.

Andreas Krieger is the former Heidi Krieger, a famous German athlete, track and field athlete, European champion in shot put. Krieger is one of the defendants and victims of a high-profile scandal and subsequent investigations in connection with doping crimes in the GDR.

Now Andreas is happily married and has a daughter, but he has completely forgotten about sports!

Natalya Ogryzko

Natalya Ogryzko is the champion of St. Petersburg in powerlifting and is a multiple champion and medalist of Russia in bodybuilding. At the beginning of her career, Natalya wore dresses, a stylish hairstyle, and used cosmetics.

But, having plunged headlong into sports, the girl completely abandoned everything inherent to the weaker sex - today Natalya shaves her head and wears exclusively men's clothes.

Denise Rutkowski

Denise took 2nd place in the Miss Olympia competition in 1993 and retired from sports. The woman later admitted that she was “hooked” on steroids and, according to the athlete herself, over the last five years of her sports activity, she took tons of them, citing that without this she would not be able to achieve results in bodybuilding.

As a result of this, the woman developed bipolar disorder, her health was completely undermined, a beard grew, and she was reported to the police. It’s a pity that this happened, we hope she was able to recover from all the troubles!

Lyudmila Gaiduchenko

Lyudmila Gaiduchenko is a world champion in armlifting, powerlifting and bench press. Interesting fact: in 1991, Lyudmila was forced to undergo so-called “gender control” to prove that she is a representative of the weaker half of humanity.
